A Quick Peek at the Artwork of Phil Laber

I still haven't figured out a way to add images to my draft posts (thank you for a prompt response to my query Google help staff...).  So I'm going to close out 2025 with a post I started in 2023 and never added text to.

My friend/former mentor Phil Laber had a show in DeWitt, Iowa.  If you have a time machine you can go see it. Anyway, his show was a look back at the work he made durin g the time period I was a student of his back in Missouri.  I LOVED seeing these pieces again.  The excellent compositions and dynamic plays between warm and cool colors are PRECISELY how/why I fell in love with his work over 30 years ago.

You can check out his pastel work by clicking this link to his website: https://www.philiplaber.com/pastel-drawings .

Enough of my blabbering on, check these pieces out!  We'll start out with what is probably my favorite.

Although this one is damn cool too...

This one isn't pretty sweet too!

Let's also give respect to this one.

...and this one...

...and this one...

Let's finish big with another awesome piece.

With that, we bid 2025 adieu....
