Some more images regarding the beehive project at The Figge Art Museum with Terry Rathje and Dean Kugler.
Here's Terry constructing the roof supports for the 'Queen Chamber'.
While Terry was painting the roof supports for the 'Queen's Chamber'.....
.....he received a serendipitous visitor.
I sneaked a couple of shots of what the wall panels look like for the Queen's Chamber in the 30 minute window of sunlight we had.
The Four-Foot Assassin in the midst of the mind-numbing task of adhering bottle caps to each panel.
In order to maintain her sanity, she will take an occasional break and go scavenging for frogs and other treasures. Here she spotted an old Chewbacca doll lost in the yard for the better part of 30 years. (Some credit might also be due to the new dog who likes to dig up the yard in search of moles and children's toys).
In one of the three chambers I am constructing, I want a large graphic face on each panel, so I started combing through one of my sketchbooks to find some candidates.
A couple of the 'winners' laid out on plywood and ready for the skill saw.......
After everything has been cut out, it is time to glue and nail the shapes/faces to the larger panels. Terry's brad-nailer is a lifesaver for this task.
Once everything is in place, I paint/prime the whole panel green.
After it has dried, I go back in and add the white.
Oooooda-Lolly!

The Suriname Chronicles: Part III
Time is short for getting my 6 pieces painted, dried, and shipped to Suriname for Terry's and my show in Paramaribo. Time to hunker down and paint.
Ahhhhhhhh. Everything is painted. Once they have all dried, it will be time to ship them out.
