A Winter Full of Sketching: Part XIV

Rounding out April with one more batch of notebook sketches.  Plus! If you act now, at no added cost to you, I will include a picture of my studio assistant/helper.

My helper is actively helping bat my pencils around.

See you in May!

A Winter Full of Sketching: Part XIII

 As promised, more sketches...

This one is an excerpt/re-interpretation of a larger drawing.  I'm hoping to make this into a full-sized piece sometime in the near future...

Until the next installment...

A Winter Full of Sketching: Part XII

Time to make the donuts/doughnuts...ahhh English and your different spellings.  Don't stop being you.

Some close up shots.

Don't worry, there will be more sketches next time...

A Winter Full of Sketching: Part XI

Powering through the pages of my sketchbook.  Trust me, when I get around to showing off all of the things that I hot-glued this past winter, sketchbook days will seem like a dream.  At least there's an occasional picture of the Gato to brighten up the scenery.

An overview of a sketchbook page and then a close up of my supre-duper-ruper studio assistant.

Now for some close ups/detail shots.

Next stop: Part XII...!

A Winter Full of Sketching: Part X

Ooooh Part X.  We're serious now.  My luck with not having Gato participation has run out.  She's back.  For just a brief moment she was transfixed by something outside.  Her state of being distracted was short-lived.  She soon went into 'helper' mode.

Details.

Time to make the donuts...

A Winter Full of Sketching: Part IX

We're not even half-way through my drawings that I have made over this past winter.

For reasons unknown to me, I've been able to have a couple of drawing sessions without any input from the Gato.  Will my luck hold out?  Probably not...

A Winter Full of Sketching: Part VIII

I'm trying to take this in bite-sized pieces.  One page at a time.  You'll notice that my sketchbook is actually a spiral-bound notebook.  For the kind of work I do, the spiral-bound notebook is all the sketchbook I need.  For other artists, they need something with thicker/better paper and a hardcover. Whatever it takes to make the kind of artwork you want to make is the appropriate kind of sketchbook.  They are repositories of ideas and inspiration(s) and increasingly become an excellent resource to tap into.  However, the old adage totally applies: "You get out of it what you put into it".

We'll start with some detail shots first.

So many more pages to go...
