Bro Kin Starts To Take Shape

In my previous post I had closed with saying with any luck, next time we'll take a look at the frame for Mystaphorical Parfait.  Guess what?  We're not that lucky.  Instead, we'll check in with the progress on Bro Kin.

Bringing Bro Kin to fruition has been quite a journey.  It started out as a smaller canvas with a heavy cement texture attached to a larger canvas.  From that point it's been a matter of choosing imagery and layering it to make some kind of compelling composition.

Here are a few images from adding color(s) to the top layer of line work.

The painting of the canvas portion of the show is just about complete.  That means it is time to kick the work on the drawing/carving the frame into overdrive.

Here are a few images of the frame in progress.

One more for good measure.

Next time we'll take a look at the horse and rider sculpture I have been working on for Pop Culture Palimpsest.
