Relic of The Republic: Broken Arch Composition

 The Relic of The Republic parade continues.

A fun little stack of forms crowned with a broken arch.  In addition having different shapes (such as rectangular blocks, a cylinder, and an Ionic column), I utilized different glazes in order to juxtapose different colors and textures to make the visual journey around the piece varied and rewarding.

A dry mat glaze contrasted with a shiny glossier glaze.  Some is applied thickly, some has actually been wiped off of the piece to only slightly change the appearance of the clay.

Some nice glaze runs.
